Frugal Family Linky May 7 and Top Posts from April

Welcome to this week’s Frugal Family Linky! We like to look back each month at some of our favorite posts, and give one of our co-hosts a chance to tell you a little more about themselves. frugal family picks april

Our top post for the month of April was Gardening Activities for Kids from The Typical Mom. There are some really great ideas there (we’ve already done three of them) so go check it out!

Our featured host this month is Evelyne from Nemcsok Farms. She’s a Canadian farmer, mom of three and much more. Hop over to her site to see the rest of our picks for Aprils’ best posts and learn a little more about her.

It was a somewhat quiet week this week over at the linky. I guess we’re all getting busy as we head into the end of the school year! (In fact the only craft I made this week was a mini fabric bunting for the girl’s fairy garden, which was super frugal because it used scraps.)

I love the “We’re going on a bear hunt” small world play that Little Worlds came up with. The girl was just reading this book the other day, and this is a really cute and simple way to extend play (and it’s a little messy, too, which of course everyone loves).

The nature sensory bag suncatcher from Hands on as We Grow is a great idea because kids can find the flowers and leaves that go in the bag, help squeeze the gel out of the container and into the bag, and then play with it. A fun, different way to bring nature inside.

We all have store-bought games around the house, but do you always follow the rules? Dabblingmomma has an idea for a different way to play with the game Elefun that helps kids with sight words and gets them moving. Maybe it will inspire you to look at your old games in a new way.
