Frugal Family Linky May 21

This week I made lanterns for the girl’s playhouse out of SunnyD bottles. This is such a fun craft that you can do with any kind of plastic bottle and use for a lot of different things, and though I did mine solo it’s a fun craft for kids as well. It’s always fun to look at trash (or recycling!) in different ways.

Summer can mean lots of spending on vacations and extra activities when kids aren’t in school. Earning and Saving with Sarah Fuller has 20 tips for saving money during the summer, including hints on what to buy when if you need to make a big purchase (I for one can’t wait until school supplies go on sale!).

I love this super easy crafty idea from A Little Pinch of Perfect. Put shaving cream on a tray and let the kids paint on it. My daughter loves playing with shaving cream, so I’ll have to keep this one in mind to try soon.

This one is in Spanish, but I think you can tell from the pictures that she’s making a bowl out of confetti. Just use a balloon as the base, put down a lot of glue, form your shape, let it dry and pop the balloon. Super cool.
