Frugal Family Linky July 9

Hi friends! My frugal craft for the week was using paper scraps to make bookmarks. I’m going to try this one with the girl this summer and see what she comes up with for her own books!

The bookmarks were a little bit inspired by my real-life friend Talya (aka Grace Grits & Gardening), who used a cool notebook with tear-off quotes to make bookmarks she put in her Little Free Library books. You could make this more frugal by just writing quotes on paper and using them for bookmarks. So cute.

We have a lot of sidewalk chalk, and also make chalk paint a few times a season, but I like this idea for making powdered paint out of sidewalk chalk from P is for Preschooler, too. Just mash up some chalk, sprinkle it around and spray water on it for lots of fun.

I have made the simple kind of moon sand out of flour and baby oil, but I’m interested in this more complicated recipe for moon sand from Letters in the Sand. It starts with play sand and is still a pretty simple recipe that looks like a lot of fun.
