Frugal Family Linky for November

Hi there! This month we’re trying something different with the linky (and may be trying more different things in the coming months/new year to make it more valuable for people) and going to a once-a-month publishing schedule rather than every week.

Now that November is upon us, all I want to do is clean. I took some books to the library on Monday, cleaned out the attic (and pulled out six more boxes of books to donate) and put some of the girl’s old clothes and toys up for resale, put some other things in the attic, started to unearth the guest room closet and in all wished I had more time to devote to clearing, cleaning and decluttering.

You can keep spring cleaning; I want to clean in the fall when we’re getting ready to spend a lot of time in the house!

I don’t know what all that has to do with being frugal except using things you have instead of buying more is always a good thing, and cleaning helps you discover what you have.

Also, I’m thinking about a lot of homemade gifts. More than is seemly, or possible in the amount of time there is, probably.

Featured Posts for October Check out the top frugal picks from October and share your posts all month.

My personal favorite post for the month was probably the DIY Mailbox playset from P is for Preschooler. So cute and easy and you probably have a box you can use already, or pick one up on your next trip to the post office.

I shared the DIY garbage disposal cleaner from the Crazy Organized Blog, so it’s worth noting that she has another simple recipe for cleaning your coffee maker. They all need it from time to time!

And if you’re starting to think about the holidays, check out the tips for saving money, DIY gifts and more to help you get ready at Medium Sized Family. If you’re making any gifts, I’d love to know what you’re planning!
