Hello, crafty friends! I decided on Monday that I really wanted to try to make my daughter’s Daisy bridging ceremony special (and because I’m the troop leader, it’s on me to do so), so I’ve been crafting up a rainbow-colored, flower-filled storm this week.
It will still be really low-key; there are only three girls bridging and I have to do it fast enough to keep the kindergartners entertained, but it’s crafty and cute and I’ll start sharing the whole thing tomorrow.
This Week’s Featured Posts
I recently wrote about the fidget spinner craze and some ideas for making DIY fidget spinners. But I like this idea from Domestic Deadline for making your own fidget toys based on what your kid likes to hold or do with their hands when they are upset. Hers are little fleece pillows filled with different items that are small enough to put in a pocket or hold in a hand without being a major distraction. Plus they give kids something to do with their hands that’s OK even at schools that have banned fidget spinners.
Wouldn’t this balloon wreath be awesome for every birthday party you host for the rest of your kids’ lives? It’s so easy you don’t even really need instructions, but SimpleJoys has the DIY. Bonus: use dollar store balloons and you can make this one really inexpensively, too.
I feel like red, white and blue are the colors of summer, probably because summer kicks off with Memorial Day. So it’s not too early to start in on the patriotic crafting. My Husband Has Too Many Hobbies has a super simple, really cute patriotic banner made with painted wooden stars and yarn pom-poms (my favorite!). Go check it out.
