Welcome again to the Frugal Family Linky. This is a place to share money saving, creative, eco friendly, family friendly ideas and to learn more about all these things from some of the smartest bloggers around.
This week I’ve had frugality on the brain, since I talked about what to do with leftover yarn ends (and made another heart to stuff with them for the girl’s teachers for Valentine’s Day) and explored how to make your own gesso and whether you would want to (so far, so good).
Featured Posts from Last Week
I loved being a part of this linky last week and wanted to share a couple of my favorites from last week here, too.
This idea from Best Toys 4 Toddlers about donating toys you aren’t using to your child’s school is a great one. We’ve done that with excess craft supplies (and yarn ends!) and I know they appreciate having some new things to use in the classroom.
The Monkey and Mouse family is about to spend a lot of time on airplanes, so she’s come up with some brilliant ways to play with paper plates. Buy a stack at the dollar store and your kids will be entertained in the air or on land for a long time.
And of course the crafter in me loves the simple Felt Heart Ornaments from Peace…But Not Quiet. Good for kids who’ve had some sewing practice and adults. Like my felt envelope, you could also just make them with fabric glue if you’re in a big hurry or don’t want to deal with the sewing. But they’re cuter this way, for sure.
