Frugal Family Linky March 12

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another installment of the Frugal Family Linky! I feel like I’ve been the bad kind of busy all week, and we haven’t done much frugal except using a giant ham as the basis for most of our meals this week.

As I write there’s a pot of beans with the ham bone in it simmering on the stove, and I’ll be sharing that recipe soon on the Petit Jean Meats blog.

As usual there were a lot of great things to choose from this week.

The DIY Geography Boxes from Child Led Life immediately caught my eye. This is a concept for teaching kids that they live in a home that’s in a town, which (here in America, anyway) is in a state, nation, continent, world. Each box in this system is one of those places. And the kids can help decorate the boxes, too.

Best Toys 4 Toddlers has a great frugal idea for playing with a child’s name using bottle caps. They printed the letters of her daughter’s name on one set of caps and made stamps for each letter with another set, allowing her to “write” her name with the stamps.

And this spring flower craft from Mum in the Madhouse is super cute. She used muffin tin liners in two different colors and sizes along with buttons to make daffodils. But I love the idea of using whatever sorts of papers you have to make a field of colorful flowers of all sorts.
