Hello everyone! This week we celebrated Earth Day, which is a great reminder that frugal things we do can also be great for the environment. Like mending things instead of throwing them away, or finding a creative way to reuse or upcycle materials we are no longer using in their intended ways.
Speaking of upcycling, if you have an empty wipes container you can make this cute piggy bank from Sunny Day Family and teach your kids about counting with the help of some milk bottle caps with numbers written on them in place of coins — perfect for little hands.
I had to pick the paper mache lady bug craft from Sparkling Buds because just the other day my daughter said she wanted to make a red balloon into a paper mache lady bug. This version uses a plate, which is probably easier.
And even though it’s been cool here this week, it is the season for lots of outdoor play. Earning & Saving has some great ideas for ways to play with sidewalk chalk and other easy, inexpensive fun to have on a sidewalk.
