The girl was sick for four days since our last Frugal Family Linky, so other than some decluttering that’s got me in the mood for crafting, I haven’t done much frugal this week. But we did have a great, long trip to the library, which is always fun and free (other than the late fees!).
It is hot already this summer, and that means toting around water wherever we go. This fun duct tape water bottle holder is a great way to encourage kids to carry their own bottles, and bigger kids can even make them themselves. Thanks for sharing, There’s Just One Mommy!
Speaking of water bottles, my real-life friend at Junque Rethunque used a large water bottle to replace the broken glass in a bird feeder. What a great idea: easy, cheap, and if it falls from the tree again it won’t break again.
We’re headed to the beach at the end of July, and I’ve been thinking about incorporating some beach-related play into our days. This small world beach scene from Little Worlds is super cute and easy to set up. I’d been thinking about doing something with our kinetic sand, but I like it with rice as the beach, too. This post also includes great tips for designing a small world with your child (I usually do it all myself, or she does it all herself, but it would be fun to do together).
