Frugal Family Linky August 6

We’ve been trying to cram as much fun — and as little working! — as possible into the brief summer break my daughter has (two and a half weeks thanks to a school “summer camp”), so I haven’t been sharing too much over here, but I’ll be back toward the end of next week with posts on what we did on our vacation and all sorts of crafty goodness.

In the meantime, it’s a new month, which means it’s time to meet another Frugal Family Linky co-host. This time around it’s Laura from Sunny Day Family. I love her blog and am always finding fun stuff there. I’m sure you will, too. In her words:

Laura is a mom to twins and pets, a book lover, and the family activity director. She loves to share easy activities and crafts for kids, organizing tips and healthy recipes for busy families. Find out more by visiting her at www.sunnydayfamily.com.

The top post for July comes from Just Another Mom, who shared a great list of simple, homemade cleaning products.

It looks like a lot of people might have been on holiday this past week, because the linky was a lot smaller than usual, but there’s some good stuff in there as always.

I love the Summer Memory Book DIY from Letters in the Sand, especially since we just got back from a vacation. I was thinking about making a book for the girl, but she’s old enough to narrate the stories and it would be a much better keepsake that way. I even just bought some blank books the other day!

We all know duct tape is great for a lot of things, from crafting to quick repairs. Earning & Saving with Sarah Fuller has a great list of 20 ways you can use this sticky tape in your life.

The girl is a great reader already (she’ll be six in a month!), but this awesome printable sight word game from Crystal & Co. at Brain Power Boy is really a fun way to help kids learn the basics.
