October! How I love you! It’s the first day it’s felt legitimately cool (not just me being a whiner) in the morning, so I celebrated with tall boots and my favorite handknit sweater. How are you celebrating the coming of fall?
This week has been a whirlwind with a bunch of fall decorating projects, which is usually not my thing at all. I made a big burlap bow (super cheap thanks to craft store sales and coupons!) to put on a grapevine wreath for the door, then set up a trick or treat station so we can still get candy to the big kids after our little has gone to bed. It’s also just a great display for getting your jack o’lanterns off the ground.
So much great stuff this week! Speaking of getting ready for fall, these printable activity pages from A Little Pinch of Perfect are so cute and great for the little ones who love dot markers. There’s also math, writing and counting activities. So great.
The girl is a big fan of Legos, so I was really interested in this post from Brain Power Boy full of ideas on how to save money on Lego sets. Knowing the retail prices and where to shop and when can make a big difference for the pricey sets that kids love.
We always seem to have a lot of old jeans around and I love using them for projects. These mum and child sized backpacks made out of old jeans by My Cookery Album are super cute, and she made them both from a single pair of jeans that cost £2.50.
