Hello there, crafters! It has been a fun softie-sewing week here at ODC HQ, and it definitely makes me want to make more little creatures.
The girl has seven more days (counting today) in her summer program and then is home for two and a half weeks before the start of second grade, so I’m also trying to craft up some fun things for us to do. What are you doing with the kids this summer?
This Week’s Featured Posts
I just realized that all my picks this week have to do with upcycling, and they all involve bottles and jars. They’re also all things you can potentially use on the back porch or in the back yard while you’re enjoying the summer (though it’s been in the 90s here all week, so we’re not doing a lot of enjoying the yard right now).
First up is these beer bottle tiki torches from Craft Beering. There are options for mounting them to a wall or using on a table, and you can paint/decorate them or not as you choose. Super simple and ever so useful.
When you’ve emptied the beer bottles you’ll have some bottle caps lying around, so why not revamp some cafe chairs with bottle cap seats? Condo Blues has the details, which will make you want to start saving your bottle caps right away!
And My Husband Has Too Many Hobbies made a great little supply caddy out of a metal candleholder and some painted glass jars. She uses hers for craft supplies, but it would also be cute and useful in the backyard to hold picnic supplies and other small items.
This Week’s Linky
Thank you for listing your creativity with us. Each week we will sponsor a new link party. Head over to the other co-hosts blogs to see all their fun stuff. We will also feature different projects so head over there to see if you were featured! Check them out here:
You can also find us on Pinterest, where we will share featured posts.
Don’t forget to grab our “featured on” button if you like!
There are just a few simple rules:
- Link to a specific post, not your home page.
- Link up something YOU made/wrote/created.
- Giveaways, other link parties, Etsy shops or business links are not accepted.
- Don’t link and run. Try to visit at least one link and show them some love. You may make a new friend.
- Have fun!
