This finger knit headband takes just a few minutes and a tiny bit of yarn to make, so you can make them to match all your outfits or use all your leftovers!

Materials

For this headband you’ll need about 16 yards of super bulky/weight 6 yarn. I used Lion Brand Hometown in Fort Worth Blue.

Then you just need your fingers, a small pair of scissors and a yarn needle.

Making a Finger Knit Headband

While I default to using four fingers most of the time when I do finger knitting, I wanted this finger knit headband to be a little more delicate, so I just used two fingers.

You wrap the yarn and make the stitches exactly the same way, just using two fingers instead of four.

Knit until your piece is a couple inches/cm shorter than your head measurement where you want the headband to sit. Mine is 19 inches/48.2 cm, and my head going across my forehead, behind my ears and under my hair is about 23 inches/58.4 cm

Bind off and cut yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Sew the ends of the headband together and weave in the ends as needed.

This finger knit headband literally took me 7 minutes from cast on to weaving in ends. It’s a great first finger knitting project and a perfect one to make with kids learning the concept (or anyone who loves instant gratification).

After you make this one if you want a bigger project, try my finger knit loop scarf.
