If you’re one of those people who lives on Pinterest like I do (and if you are, won’t you follow me?) you’ve probably seen the pin for the Easy Abstract Painting DIY from Craft Pond a few hundred times.
It’s a really cute and easy idea: just take a canvas, put little dots of paint all over it, swirl them together (she uses a wet brush) and there’s your piece.
The Bit had a similar idea the other day when she wanted to paint but didn’t want to bother with a palette. She asked me to drop some paint onto a piece of construction paper for her to swirl around.
She mostly used her fingers — well, it was fingerpaint — and didn’t really mix the colors together, which is classic Bit.
I still think they’re pretty.
Later that day when she was at school I decided to make one of my own. I can see how a wet brush would help, but since I was just using construction paper I left mine dry.
I still think it turned out interesting, if not as beautifully abstract as the one on Craft Pond.
Have you been experimenting with art lately? I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to.
