I am an affiliate of Kiwi Crate but I also love what they do.

Did you know that March is National Crafting Month? It’s the time of year when we celebrate making, and when crafty bloggers like me, who are interested in passing craft on to the next generation, spend lots of time thinking about how we can do just that (as if we don’t think about that all the time).

To me, one of the big things that encourages creativity for kids (and adults, too) is having ready access to lots of different materials. And if you don’t already have a craft space chock full of paints, markers, paper, googly eyes and other great stuff, Kiwi Crate has got you covered.
Enter to Win Your Kid's Dream Craft Room

They’ve teamed up with Highlights magazine and YoYo.com to give away a dream kids’ craft room, valued at over $650 and including such goodies as:

  • Annual subscription to Highlights™ / High Five™ magazine
  • Annual subscription to Kiwi Crate ($240 value)
  • $200 worth of arts & crafts supplies from Kiwi Crate
  • $60 worth of craft organization supplies from Highlights
  • A KidKraft table & chair set from YoYo.com ($160 value)

How awesome is that?

If you don’t know Kiwi Crate, it’s a subscription service that sends you a fun, themed craft box every month. They can be about anything from going green to making disguises, playing with colors or making music. They’re a great way to get kids interested in crafting who might not otherwise be, and they give you all the materials you need for the included projects as well as ideas for related crafts you could do with your leftovers or other common materials. Check out some of their sample crates to see the crafty ideas.

You can also find great DIY projects on their website and Pinterest boards to give you even more simple, fun, adorable things to do with your kids. This adorable little pot of gold, for instance, is super simple and great for kids of all ages, especially if you put a little treat under the rainbow.

Kiwi Crate and Target Partnership

Even cooler, Target has invited Kiwi Crate to develop a line of exclusive crates for sale in Target stores. To celebrate, Kiwi Crate is giving away a $250 Target gift card. The contest runs through March 31, 2014. Enter here!

Have you ever used Kiwi Crate or another crafty subscription service? I’d love to hear about it. And check out my friend Amanda’s post on using subscription boxes in ways other than the instructions suggest.
