I love going to the farmers’ market. On Saturdays it is the place to see everyone in town, and for the girl to get face painting and a Pedal Pop. But I really enjoy going during the week (it’s also open Tuesdays and Thursdays) because it is quiet and you have a chance to really look at things.
This time of year, there are strawberries, which give you hope that you can hold on until tomato season. There are greens and plants and homemade things aplenty.
And there are flowers. Not just for sale, but in the gardens around the square, where the market takes place.
It’s my favorite thing just to walk around and look.
And take pictures.
Sometimes I don’t even know what I’m taking pictures of. Like these giant orange flowers. I’m pretty sure they’re some kind of poppy, but it doesn’t entirely matter.
Bright colors are great, but so is green. Everything is so alive. I want to capture it every year, even if I take the same pictures every year (which I probably do).
I can’t wait til the girl and I have a chance to wander around together.
In the meantime, I just need to decide what to do with these strawberries. Any ideas?
