I love canvas printed photos. They make your regular photos look that much more special because not only are they printed out — which seems like a rarity these days — they are really showcased by being printed in this style. What is a Canvas Printed Photo?

Just like it sounds, a canvas printed photo is a photograph that has been printed on canvas. It is then mounted on a frame that’s not visible when the photo is hanging.

The photo is usually printed so that it completely covers the canvas, even the sides that wrap around the interior frame. It gives your photos the look of an art gallery and they can be printed in just about any size, from a 10-inch square to 48 by 32 inches.

You can print a single photo on a canvas, make a collage, or even split a single photo across three large canvases for instant dramatic effect.

Where Can I Get a Canvas Printed Photo?

Most companies that print photos offer an option to have a photo printed on canvas. Prices and quality can vary widely.

I like to use Canvas Factory, an online shop that offers a wide variety of size options (and also does acrylic and metal prints). They even have a gallery of printable wall art you can choose from if you don’t have your own photo you want to use for a particular space.

Some of these retro prints would be great in a kitchen or a themed room, and would make a great gift idea for someone in your life who loves that style. There are several travel themed ones that I really love that could be mixed in with vacation photos to make a fun gallery.

Ordering Canvas Prints from Canvas Factory

Getting a canvas printed at Canvas Factory almost could not be easier. Start by choosing the type of print you want, such as single photo, collage or split image.

Upload your photo, choose a size, check out how it will look printed and place your order.

I originally used a photo that the techs at Canvas Factory said wasn’t good enough quality for the size print I was trying to make (imagine that, a cell phone photo taken in the dark can’t be blown up well!).

Customer service emailed me and went over my options and I ultimately sent them a different photo — taken with a real camera — that turned out great.

Once that was taken care of shipping only took a few days.

Canvas prints come wrapped in plastic and in a sturdy box to keep them safe.

For now this print — if you want to know, it’s the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse in Florida — is hanging out on a little wall by itself, but odds are good we’re going to keep collecting canvas printed photos and will end up with a whole gallery wall of our adventures.

We also have this one I printed last year of a tree in Alabama. I love the way they turned out and the detail is really great.
