I’ve been on a bit of a ghost kick this fall, so I thought it would be a great time to share some more ghost crafts you can make. From knit and crochet to ghosts in a jar, yarn crafts and more, you’re sure for find some great ghost crafts for kids and adults here. Let’s get spooky!

Easy Ghost Crafts

I’m calling these “easy” because they don’t require special skills like knitting or crochet.

My ghost tassel is one of the easiest ghost crafts out there because you’re just wrapping yarn around something and cutting it into a tassel shape. Use any white yarn you have on hand. Did you know you can buy glow in the dark yarn? So fun!

Another great one is this air dry clay ghost DIY. This is great for kids and adults, and you can decorate the ghosts after they’re dry if you want. They can also sit on LED candles to make them extra spooky (just make sure you make the base of the ghost wide enough to sit on top of the candle).

This little ghost in a jar from One Little Project uses glow in the dark polymer clay, but you could use a little version of the air dry clay ghost above as well. Try adding glow in the dark pigment or painting your ghosts with glow in the dark paint if you want that effect.

Jessica Etcetera made this cute no-sew fabric ghosts with floral fabric, but you can use whatever you like. I like how they look like someone cut up a bed sheet to make them. They’re really easy to make with fabric stiffener.

If you want to go your own way to add a ghost to a paper crafting project, make a fabric applique or even just want some ghost coloring pages for the kids, check out the ghost templates from Monday Mandala.

Knit Ghost Patterns

I have a knit ghost that’s made on the circular knitting machine, but you can do the exact same thing with hand knitting to make a ghost that looks the same. Either way it’s a quick and easy project.

The Gus and Augustus ghosts from Trixie Zynch (Ravelry link) are super cute and simple to knit on worsted weight yarn. And the pattern is free.

Elizabeth Finn’s Spook Ghost (also on Ravelry) is another cute and free pattern that uses worsted weight yarn and mohair together to make your ghosts a little fuzzy.

I was going to say the Grim Grinning Ghost from Susan Claudino reminds me of Casper, but it turns out Casper has feet? So I don’t know which ghost these remind me of, but if you do, let me know! Whatever ghost they are, they’re super cute and you can work them in any weight yarn to make ghosts of different sizes. Find the pattern on Ravelry.

I do love a ghost with arms, and this one from Edith Grace Designs is also really cute. It’s worked flat using DK or light worsted weight yarn, and it looks like it can stand up on its own, which is handy.

These sort of teardrop shaped ghosts from Butterfly Love 1 are super cute and look like they would be pretty easy to knit. They come in two sizes and are worked flat using DK weight yarn.

The picot edging on this little ghost friend from Designs by Jeremy reminds me both of the ghosts from Pac-Man and the crochet ghosts that I made (more on them below). This teensy ghost works up in no time on double pointed needles using worsted weight yarn.

I also love these ghost pumpkins from Rosemarie Skov (available on Raverly), which you could do with any knit pumpkin pattern you like, just knit the pumpkin with white yarn and decorate to look like a ghost or a skeleton.

Crochet Ghost Crafts

I mentioned my crochet ghosts, and I do have a basic pattern for making ghosts in crochet that you can alter in different ways to suit your tastes. You can make the head round or more oval, and there’s an option for a picot edge. You can also use different weights of yarn to make ghosts of different sizes.

This little crochet ghost from Handy Little Me is another great basic pattern, which you can add a little witch hat to for extra cuteness. It uses DK weight yarn. I also like this little one with tiny arms(!) from Crochet Honey Bear.

The ghost walking a ghost dog is a classic, and you can crochet a version with this pattern from Once Upon a Cheerio. This one is made with glow in the dark yarn or you can use whatever white yarn you have on hand.

These little flat ghosts from 3 am grace designs are cute to make as toys or a ghost garland. You could also make a bunch to give out as treats on Halloween or put in a boo basket. I love the rainbow colors, though of course you can use whatever you like.

Damn It, Janet Let’s Crochet has a super cute and cuddly ghost pillow pattern made with worsted weight yarn. I’d love to see a giant version worked with blanket yarn, too!

This ghost amigurumi from Stringy Dingy Ding is so cute, too, complete with a little pumpkin to hold. Or try this plus no sew ghost pattern with a witch hat from Marizza Toys.

Ghost Patterns to Sew

If you’re looking for more ghost crafts that use fabric, check out these super cute ghost sewing patterns.

This sweet ghost plushie from Craftidly is easy to sew and made from a microfiber cloth from the dollar store. Talk about a budget craft

I love these felt ghosts from Fairy Shore that would be perfect to hang on your Halloween tree or use as a garland. And speaking of garlands, there are also these colorful hand sewn felt ghosts from Oh Yay Studio that are adorable used just in that way.

This plush ghost and pumpkin from Loveche Patterns are cute both in white, but you could make the pumpkin orange or any other color you like. Or the ghost, for that matter!

Bombshell Bling has a cute free pattern for a ghost holding a piece of candy corn (you could probably give it a pumpkin or a witch hat if you find candy corn controversial).

Cross Stitch Ghost Patterns

I couldn’t end my ghost crafts roundup without also sharing some ghost cross stitch patterns. It’s hard to find plain ghost cross stitch projects but I wanted to keep these pretty simple for beginners.

Worked in a single color, this ghost from Pindependent Crafts would be great for someone new to the craft. It fits in a 5 inche hoop and you can include the word book or not as you like.

The easy Anchor ghost cross stitch pattern available at Yarnspirations is a good one for new stitchers. It uses just three colors and measures 62 by 57 stitches, which comes out to about 4.5 by 4 inches/11 by 10 cm.

Garden Glitch has an adorable mini ghost cross stitch pattern worked in 3 colors with optional back stitching for the facial features. It fits in a 1.5 inch hoop so you can stitch it up in no time and put it in a mini frame, use it as a pin or turn it into a patch.

Little Wonders Studios has this cute ghost with a few more details and colors but that would still be pretty easy to make. At just 39 by 42 stitches it’s a pretty fast project, too.

Stitch a bunch of little ghosts or pick a few to use on a smaller project with this magic ghosts pattern from Art Dublin. The full project is 120 by 120 stitches and uses 6 colors. You can use different sizes of fabric, but on 14 count it comes out to 8.57 by 8.57 inches, or 21.77 cm.
