For all the years I’ve lived in Northwest Arkansas, I had never been a part of a Walmart Shareholders event before this year, and I have to say it was a lot of fun. I got to go to the supplier fair held at the Washington County Fairgrounds to hear country act Joey + Rory and sample some goodies from the Kraft Food Truck.
The supplier fair is a huge party for shareholders, vendors and associates to get to sample some favorite and new products from some of the companies that are sold at Walmart, and they keep it entertaining with live music through the day.
Joey + Rory are a husband and wife from Nashville who tour with their daughter, Heidi, and they took the stage to sing away the clouds, turning a rainy day into a sunny (and humid) one by the end of their set. They’re just about the cutest thing ever, and they’re exactly as nice as they seem.
As part of their visit to the shareholders’ event they signed autographs, and they took lots of time to pose for pictures and talk to their fans.
I don’t know if they even got to sample any of the food from the Kraft Food Truck. If they didn’t, it’s a shame, because they were offering all sorts of strangely delicious concoctions.
Before the concert I happened upon the cart while they were still serving breakfast and got a taste of a yummy breakfast sandwich complete with bacon, egg and cheese.
Lunch offerings included a hot ham and cheese sandwich, BLT and the one I couldn’t resist: a macaroni and cheese sandwich.
It was sort of like you’d expect macaroni and cheese on toast to taste, which is to say yummy.
There were also the messiest s’mores on planet earth. Yum.
My bloggy buddy Jacqueline sampled the Oscar Mayer bacon dog with white cheese topper, too, and said it was strangely good.
