If you’re having trouble seeing the point of doing doodles or how they’re really constructive, try this little art project.
Pick a word. It could be a name, something you aspire to, or even just the first letter of your name, if you’re rather.
Write the word or letter in block letters. I used printer paper and a black felt tip marker, but you can use whatever you have handy.
It doesn’t have to be perfect, clearly.
Then use different colored pens, pencil, Sharpies, highlighters, whatever you have handy to decorate the letter or letters with doodles.
You can do repeating shapes in each letter, or one shape for each letter, or just doodle randomly, or some of both.
Remember how there are no rules?
This project at least gives your doodling a bit of direction and makes something you can put on your inspiration wire when you’re done.
What, you don’t have an inspiration wire? We’ll talk about that later this week.
This post is part of my month of creativity boosts. Check out the rest of the series.
