Today is the first day it’s actually felt like fall might be coming to Arkansas. As I write this it’s a lovely 82 degrees outside and the window right behind me is open. Love it.
I’ve been a little reluctant for it to be fall, which is weird, because it’s my favorite. I guess it’s just a reminder of how much I wanted to get done this year that still isn’t done. But one coolish day and I’m ready for long sleeves and knit scarves (honestly, I’m always ready for knit scarves) and I have about eight million projects I want to do.
First up, there is always knitting. I’ve been playing with these candy corn pieces for a couple of days now. Bunting? A candy bowl? A tiny gift bag? Not sure yet. I’d love to hear what you think.
Beyond knitting, I’m feeling the pull of Pinterest. Which is strange, because we never really decorate for holidays. We do pumpkins on the porch, and a Christmas tree for a couple weeks, but that’s about it. Maybe I’m turning into someone who cares about home decor for the first time in my life. Probably not. I just like crafting.
Anyway, I’m feeling a kind of serious need to decorate our fireplace for fall. There will probably be Mason jar lid pumpkins. And maybe book pumpkins, too. And looking for those links I cam across this one for 50 pumpkin-themed crafts, and I may well have to make some wee pompom pumpkins. You know I’ve got orange yarn. Adorable.
It’s nice to feel like I want to craft again. It’s been awhile.
Happy (almost) fall.
Are you crafting for fall already? I’d love to hear what you’re up to! Or what you have planned. Or why I should care more about holiday decor.

Adorable candy corns! I like the one with more yellow also. How neat that you’re in Arkansas – I am also and Fall is my favorite time of year.
Thanks! I turned them into a bowl: http://craftbits.com/project/knit-candy-corn-bowl/
