This week’s iron Craft challenge theme was “Rainy Days,” and for some reason most of the time I was thinking about what to do, all I wanted to do was make an umbrella out of felt and turn it into a magnet.
So I made an umbrella out of felt.
And then I couldn’t find my sticky-backed magnet paper.
And then I decided what I really wanted to do was to finally make a doll for the Bit’s felt board (she already has felt clothes from a busy bag swap we did last year) and add some rainy-day gear.
But I’m horrid at drawing, so I was going to print out some templates to make the doll and the rain gear.
But then my printer wouldn’t work.
And of course I waited until deadline day to try to do it (I tend to get inspired by deadlines, don’t you?) and spent all my crafting time trying to get the printer to work.
So, I have a felt umbrella. And an idea for an awesome craft I’ll make and share with you as soon as the printer starts working.
Does technology interfere with your life sometimes, too? I’d love to hear about it.

Yes, my technology is driving me crazy! We have a laser printer which is wonderful, but when I bought new yellow ink, I bought a pretty cheap replacement, and it just does not work right. It makes me so irritated because I used to be able to print gorgeous stuff with my printer and now I can only print things that require no yellow. Which, not surprisingly, is not much. Also, I have a Silhouette machine, which I love, but I don’t think I’m smart enough to use. When I peel up my paper from the sticky mat, my paper is always curled, and sometimes it rips the delicate corners when I’m cutting something complicated. I’ve slowed the speed down, but still. . .arg.
Hmmm. . .sorry about my technology rant. Obviously I’m feeling pretty frustrated with my tech around here, too. Maybe they’ve decided to boycott us?
Oh, I feel you, Abbie! My printer is actually low on yellow ink, too, though I don’t think that’s the problem because it printed a test page just fine…
